FOUNDATION STONE OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S STATUE LAID AT KALIMPONG

Webdesk, TNI Kalimpong, 14th January, 2015: On the 152nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Bharat Uday (B.U), a nonprofit organization installed Swami Vivekananda’s sculpture at the 10th mile, Kalimpong. Bharat Uday (B.U) invited Nima Tamang, a member of the 32 number constituency to lay the foundation stone. The height of the sculpture is approximately 12 feet. Vivekananda’s birthday is also celebrated as National Youth’s Day, to inspire the youths with his philosophies and ideas.‘We want the youths to indulge incalculably to the society and do something extraordinary where people will remember them in some other names in the future’ explained Mahesh Gupta, spokesperson of Bharat Uday. Nima Tamang later in a press conference appreciated Bharat Uday’s work, ‘The works of Bharat Uday and its step of implanting the statue of Swami Vivekananda is very appreciative.’ He also said that the youths should know the contributions of Vivekananda and imply them in order to make India a better place to live.
